Playground Games
We were in our yard in Wales today at playtime and filmed some of our playground rhymes - we thought that you might like to see them. We would very much like to see the games and rhymes that you do during your playtimes or lunchtimes.

The rules of the boardgame.
Here are the rules how to play the boardgame OH, DARN IT! My pupils like it very much and we play it in different activities as in language or math lessons, and pupils like to play it as well in breaktime.
Materials:
stiff card for the boards, picture or word cards, envelopes.
Preparation:
• Make a board 50x50 cm, glue 20 envelopes on it. Write on each envelope numbered 1-20.
• Make some picture or word cards with different topics-(animals, numbers, food, family, clothes, etc. and also some „Oh, Darn It” cards.
Procedure:
• Put the cards face down in the envelopes.
• Devide the class into groups of 2 or more.
• Invite a member of one of the groups to choose an envelope and to say the number on it.
• Take a card from the envelope and say the word. If he/she says the word correctly, their team win as many points as are on the envelope.
When he/she makes a mistake, all team gets minus points.
• If he/she takes an „Oh Darn it” card- their group lose all their points.
• The group with the most points is the winner.
Have a fun! Kylli from Estonia
P.S.
Thank you Paul, my pupils like to play your game too, good that you wrote the rules to play! Good idea to share the games and activities!!

Some New Messages for our friends from Wales (UK).
In our class today we listened to the podcasts from Italy with great excitement. We had also previously read The Colour Poem from our friends in the Czech Republic ( Chantelle one of my 7 year old pupils wrote a new version of the colour poem which she says 'has a better rhyme at the end') we have recorded our version of the Colour Poem we will let you our partners decide what you think of it?
** We also as you will hear sang a song for Daniela **

YackPack Tool
this might be an interesting tool to use for communication - all you have to do to talk (like a walkie talkie ) is to press down the button and let it go when you have finished speaking. We obviously have to be careful as it would help to know who the people are who are online. You get a number in the bottom right corner telling you who how many others are viewing the page.
Perhaps it will be better to use than skype, no video but perhaps clearer audio with less echo and delay. Let's give it a try...

Easter in Greece
Hello everybody !
One day after Easter I’m posting some pictures from the class. We dyed eggs, we decorated candles and we made Easter baskets.
In the photograph with the two girls and the flowery baskets two students are preparing to go sing the Lazarus song. This takes place on the last day before we break for Easter. We stop for two weeks.
Here in Greece, Holy Week or “Great Week” as we call it, every day there is something special to do. We dye eggs on Holy Thursday normally and the most prevalent colour is red. If you want to see some more techniques of this you can visit the blog of my other school here.
On Holy Saturday we go to church late at night to celebrate Christ’s Resurrection. Just before 12 o’clock lights go out in church and the priests call the people to receive Holy light. This is the time everybody lights their candles and it is a very moving sight to see the dark church getting lit slowly by candlelight. Then a few moments later the priests sing “Chist has resurrected” and everybody kisses their families and friends and are happy. Then we go home and eat a special soup called “mageiritsa”.
On Sunday we usually roast a lamp on a special spit and have fun!
