The rules of the boardgame.

Here are the rules how to play the boardgame OH, DARN IT! My pupils like it very much and we play it in different activities as in language or math lessons, and pupils like to play it as well in breaktime.

Materials:
stiff card for the boards, picture or word cards, envelopes.
Preparation:
• Make a board 50x50 cm, glue 20 envelopes on it. Write on each envelope numbered 1-20.
• Make some picture or word cards with different topics-(animals, numbers, food, family, clothes, etc. and also some „Oh, Darn It” cards.

Procedure:

• Put the cards face down in the envelopes.
• Devide the class into groups of 2 or more.
• Invite a member of one of the groups to choose an envelope and to say the number on it.
• Take a card from the envelope and say the word. If he/she says the word correctly, their team win as many points as are on the envelope.
When he/she makes a mistake, all team gets minus points.
• If he/she takes an „Oh Darn it” card- their group lose all their points.
• The group with the most points is the winner.

Have a fun! Kylli from Estonia
