Moving Monster Models

In Wales for one of our Design Technology Projects in Year 3, we have to make our own model monsters, they have to have a moving part powered by pneumatics ( by inflating balloons, tubing, pumps and syringes ).

These are our monsters which we made this week in class...

SPRING DAY in Wedrynia - Czech Republic

We used First Spring Day for our students to do a school cleanup.
We decorated our classrooms and put on „Spring“ (green) clothes.
Throughout the day there was many activities connected with Spring.
Only nature didn’t celebrate - it was snowing .
For pupils it was OK. What a great day!

Board Games

We are studying Instruction writing this week, as part of this we will be looking at Board Game Instructions. Looking at the work from Itea in Greece we have posted ourselves playing a game called 'Achi' from Ghana in West Africa. It is a simple game needing only a board and 4 sets of counters each. You play by placing your counters in turn on the board where 2 lines at least join. You then take it in turns to move counters along lines until one player has 3 in a row ( this wins the game ). We played best of 5 wins. Tomorrow we will be playing a game called Nine Men's Morris which is a very old 'English' board game. We will post the board and rules soon.

Toys and games in Greece

We brought our favourite toys one day in class and another day we brought our favourite board games and then we played a Junior version of Scrabble.

Comparing and contrasting the different toys and games in different countries has great interest don't you agree?

Children of Itea, Greece

Hello dear friends
I Know I haven't written for a long time and haven't contributed much to this project but I'm following it closely and my students do too. I've taken so many pictures and done many projects with the children but I just couldn't find the time to upload everything. So for now I'm uploading a file of my students in D class and a few of C class because they were very excited with the project and they wanted to participate too.

You see I teach four different classes in my school (and four more in another school) which means that I only see the specific studetns three times a week. Now you can begin to understand how difficult it is to get them all to do the same thing!

NO more writing! Here is the slide show!
